# Occubuy

> Occubuy is a free Australian app that pays renters points for the rent they already pay. Members keep paying rent the same way, to the same person, on the same day. An accredited provider shares their rent payments under Australia's Consumer Data Right, with their consent, and Occubuy verifies each payment and pays points for it. Members spend points in the rewards catalogue, or on a property rebate at settlement when they buy a home from the network of 100,000+ properties across Australia. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred, and are not a deposit, an investment or a financial product.

## What Occubuy does

Occubuy pays renters for something they already do every week: pay rent. It combines rent verification, a points program, and a catalogue of partner rewards.

- **Track rent automatically**: With the member's consent, an accredited data recipient shares their bank data under the Consumer Data Right. Occubuy verifies rent payments to any property manager. Nothing about how the member pays rent changes.
- **Earn points, including on past rent**: Every rent payment Occubuy verifies earns points. When a member first connects, Occubuy can verify up to 24 months of rent they have already paid, so most people join with a points balance already sitting there. Members earn additional points for other steps in the app, such as comparing bills, building a home ownership plan, checking their Readiness Score, or referring a friend. The points are the same whether or not the member takes anything up.
- **Spend points**: Points can be spent in the rewards catalogue, or put toward a property rebate at settlement across a network of 100,000+ properties in Australia. The rebate is funded by the seller, written into the contract of sale, and disclosed to the buyer's broker and lender.
- **Points do not go stale**: Points lapse only after 24 months with nothing earned. While a member keeps earning, they keep every point.
- **Plan ahead**: The Home Ownership Plan sets a goal and shows the steps toward it, along with the points each step earns. The Readiness Score is a member feature that shows where a member stands today and what moves the needle. It is not a credit score and has nothing to do with a member's credit file.
- **Marketplace**: A catalogue of partner rewards and introductions to licensed professionals. Every listing shows the points required, the conditions, what it is and who supplies it.

## What Occubuy is not

- Occubuy is **not** a bank, lender, mortgage broker, financial adviser, real estate agent or insurer. It does not give financial advice or make recommendations. Listings are facts, not recommendations. Occubuy can introduce members to licensed professionals who act for them; members are introduced, never assigned.
- Occubuy **does not collect, hold or use credit reporting information**. It never obtains a member's credit score or credit report, and it does not report rent to any credit bureau. There is no credit check.
- Occubuy is **not accredited** under the Consumer Data Right. Yodlee is the accredited data recipient, with Effi as its CDR representative. Occubuy never sees a member's passwords and cannot move their money.
- Points are **not money**. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred, and are not a deposit, savings, an investment or a financial product.
