“Rewarding strong financial behaviour, creating more homeowners.” Sydney-based AI-powered financial venture Occubuy appoints Dr. Amy Shi-Nash as Co-Founder and CEO to accelerate homeownership pathways.

Occubuy - an emerging Australian data and AI venture - is unlocking pathways to homeownership by rewarding positive financial behaviour, personalising the buyer journey, and forging a coordinated alliance of partners to support the next generations. Dr Shi-Nash brings 25 years’ experience across financial services, technology, data and AI, with a track record in value creation and scaling global capabilities.

Occubuy have announced the appointment of Dr. Amy Shi-Nash as Co-Founder and CEO, as the company strengthens efforts to tackle Australia's homeownership challenges. The appointment comes at a pivotal moment as Occubuy shapes their future strategy, building capabilities in the agentic AI era.

More than seven million Australians rent, many with a decade or more of proven financial reliability, with financial systems categorising them as first-time applicants with no track record. By harnessing data on positive financial behaviours, the platform provides lenders with deeper, more meaningful insights, helping aspiring homeowners demonstrate consistency and responsibility beyond traditional indicators, creating fairer assessments and clearer pathways to homeownership.

”At Occubuy, we’re putting empathy and a deeper understanding of members’ aspirations at the centre of everything, so we can personalise their path to homeownership and help them get there faster,” says Dr. Shi-Nash.

“Having Amy join the team strengthens our ability to translate positive financial behaviours into meaningful insights,” said Co-Founder Nathan Aranha. “Her experience accelerates our mission to create a system that not only reflects how people manage their finances but also rewards strong financial behaviours, giving users tangible benefits as they progress.”

Co-Founder David Cain said the company is building the foundational infrastructure to unite partners across the housing continuum. “We understand our customers deeply and now have the opportunity to create alliances that reduce fragmentation, strengthen collaboration, and give partners greater confidence in supporting aspiring homebuyers,” he said.

Dr. Shi-Nash's appointment signals Occubuy's shift into enterprise engagement, technical integration and policy alignment. The company is developing industry partnerships to explore how high-quality behavioural data may augment existing credit and affordability frameworks, ahead of global expansion.
